Hasi

Dil toh toot chuka hai
Par kisi ko na pata,
Har hasi ke picche khushi hota hai
Ye kisne bola.

Hasi ko ek nakab banaya
Apne dard chupane ka,
Par ye bhi feeka par gaya
Jab kisine halat pucch liya.

Usne pucch liya ke
" Din mey toh haste rehte ho
Raat ko kya ho jata hai tumhe ? "
Iske jawaab mey bhi  haste hi reh gaya.

THE FLOOR THAT WAS NEVER BUILT (by Gitangshu Adhikary; Plot by Sourodipto)

THE FLOOR THAT WAS NEVER BUILT Author: Gitangshu Adhikary Plot: Sourodipto Part I — The Sounds Above By midnight, everyone in Kankurgachi Heights knew the footsteps would begin. No one spoke about them in daylight. The residents laughed in elevators, complained about leaking taps, argued over parking spaces, paid maintenance fees, and posted photographs of sunsets from their balconies. They behaved like people who believed concrete could keep the world ordinary. Then the clock crossed twelve. The footsteps came. Not loud. Measured. Patient. Someone walking across a floor that did not officially exist. ... A child on the sixth floor had once asked his mother why the footsteps always sounded as though they stopped directly above his bedroom. She slapped him before she realized she had done it. Three days later, the family moved away without informing the housing society. Nobody took Flat 6C again. ... The tower stood in one of Kolkata's ...

THE EYES OF AMAVASYA (by Gitangshu Adhikary; Sam Penn)

THE EYES OF AMAVASYA Author: Gitangshu Adhikary Plot: Sam Penn Part I — The Bird That Never Blinked The bird arrived on a Tuesday. Nobody saw it come. Nobody heard its wings. Yet when eleven-year-old Arjun awoke just after midnight to the sound of a dry tapping against his bedroom window, it was already there—perched on the twisted neem tree behind his house. At first, he smiled. It looked like a parrot. Green feathers. Long tail. Curved beak. Only... Its feathers seemed too dark for moonlight, as though they absorbed the pale glow instead of reflecting it. And it wasn't looking around. It was looking at him. Directly. Its eyes never wandered. They never blinked. Arjun waved. The bird remained perfectly still. The tapping stopped. He rubbed his sleepy eyes. The branch was empty. The bird had disappeared without taking flight. The next night, it returned. This time there was no tapping. Arjun woke for no reason a...
